GL1000 FLOAT PIN TOWER FIX!

In part due to the ethanol in modern fuels attacking the poor alloy and also due to their advancing age, good GL1000 carburettors are getting scarce.

So it's a real blow, when you have an otherwise good set of carbs, that a float pin tower is accidently broken off. I've done it myself so don't feel you are alone!

There are fixes out there, but most take some considerable skill to implement and sometimes, depending on just how it has broken off, what you are left with to attach the new fix just doesn't work.

Help is at hand! I now have stock of this excellent, super easy fix.

Just remove the float valve seat retainer and screw, break off the remaining pin tower, fit this part in place of the retainer with the original screw and attach your float. Set your float level (21mm) and you are back in business.
